Following years of apprenticeship in oil painting and paper conservation, Antonio Alvarez established Alvarez Fine Art Services in 1984 to serve the specialized needs of art on paper.  With the expertise and knowledge of a pre-academic conservator, he developed a state of the art studio and built a team of specialists dedicated exclusively to the handling paper conservation and restoration.  Although Alvarez has always remained a small and personal service-oriented company, it has developed the finest reputation among the best galleries, dealers, institutions, and private collectors in the United States and abroad. The strength of the studio lies in its handling of difficult paper conservation problems while preserving the integrity of the work of art.
