There is a minimum charge for all projects.

However estimates are based on time and materials necessary to complete the treatment, not on the value of the object. Appraisals are not offered by the studio because it conflicts with the Code of Ethics from the American Institute of Conservation (AIC). Appraisal is an altogether separate professional activity from conservation. We recommend that you contact an expert in a field related to your object. You can find links to appraisal services here:

Staff members are available to advise on shipping objects to the studio and if an object is too large, heavy or fragile to be safely transported, ask for a site visit.
